The Bronx-born, Yonkers-bred artist accepted the historic honor in a black and green, zebra-pattern, sequined halterneck jumpsuit by Ashish.

“Thank y’all so so much. I want to thank my fans. Man, none of this is possible without the fans, so thank you to all the fans,” expressed the actress as she stood before a glass podium. “And I’ve got something special coming for y’all [on] June 25th. It’s the My Life documentary.”

After thanking the Apollo, she shared how her first rubbing the Tree of Hop stump was as a backup singer. “My very first time performing here at the Apollo, I was not on stage as myself. I was on stage singing background for Jeff Gray. And then from there on, it was all history, Mary J. Blige history, so, thank y’all so so so much for everything.”

Under Blige’s production company, Blue Butterfly, My Life was reportedly picked up by Amazon Studios and eOne. The Powerbook II actress was said to co-executive produce the autobiographical project with Sean “Diddy” Combs. The film is expected to give “a personal and never before seen look into the emotional journey of Mary J. Blige’s past struggles with poverty, abuse, addiction, and heartbreak.”

Interesting Fact: Blige’s induction fell on the same date as her mother’s birthday.

Iggy Azalea Says Playboi Carti Is Not A Deadbeat Dad, Clarifies Previous Statemen

Iggy Azalea Says Playboi Carti Is Not A Deadbeat Dad, Clarifies Previous Statemen

Iggy Azalea has clarified that her son’s father is very much still in his life after causing some confusion with her earlier statement.

The “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching” rapper had her fans assuming that Playboi Carti no longer played a role in raising their son Onyx after she declared on Instagram, “I’m raising my son alone.” The original post was followed by the words, “I’m not in a relationship,” which served to confirm that she and Carti had called it quits, ending their 2-year romance. But seeing as almost everything has the power to be misconstrued and misinterpreted on the internet, Iggy Azalea has since clarified what exactly she meant as far as the “@ Meh” rapper is concerned.

“Nothing I said was intended to make it seem like my sons father isn’t part of his life but I’ve noticed a lot of people took it that way, so I wanted to clear the air,” the 30-year-old wrote in her Insta Story. “Onyx is so so loved by his dad & has always had both parents in his life from day 1.”

Playboi Carti has so far remained silent on all the drama regarding his role as a father and boyfriend, but Iggy Azalea’s posts have made it seem as though the Georgia rapper is the one who caused their demise, writing on IG, “You lost a real 1!!!” She also vented about her former partner taking her loyalty for granted while calling him out for being a liar. She did not specifically state why they brokeup.

Amidst the breakup, Iggy took the opportunity to properly introduce her son to the world by posting the first photo of Onyx on her Insta.

Dave East Recruits Popcaan For “Unruly” Single Off ‘Karma 3’ Mixtape

Dave East Recruits Popcaan For “Unruly” Single Off ‘Karma 3’ Mixtape

Dave East has dropped off a Jamaican inspired single titled, “Unruly,” which features the Unruly boss himself, Popcaan.

“Unruly” is one of the tracks featured on Dave East’s third mixtape installment Karma 3, which was released on August 13th, 2020. The prior installments were released in 2017 and 2018. Karma 3 sees collaborations from a bevy of heavyweights such as Trey Songz, Mary J.Blige, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Popcaan, Young Dolph, and much more. The new mixtape is composed of 15 tracks with “Unruly” at position number 2, which fans were quick to poke fun at on Popcaan’s Instagram account with him hilariously responding, “yyyyy”.

Dave East, given name, David Lawrence Brewster Jr., is a popular American rapper, songwriter, and actor. The New York rapper entered the music game way back in 2010. However, he didn’t begin to gain traction until 2014 when he released his eighth mixtape titled, “Black Rose.” His latest offering, “Karma 3,” is dedicated to his close friend and fellow rapper Kiing Shooter, who is also from New York. The rapper passed away following complications of the coronavirus back in May of this year, although East himself denies those claims.

For “Unruly” East fuses what sounds like an old reggae beat with a classic hip hop melody. The track definitely gives off Caribbean vibes, and East’s use of Jamaican slang (patois) is a nice addition. In the track, East shares the tragic dark and violent backstory of his childhood. While rapping in his signature quick-paced flow, the rapper drops bars, and fans have already dubbed the track as one of his best yet. In the intro for the track, Popcaan welcomes fans saying, “Murder, murder, Unruly, Bombocl**t dem DNA Ayy, Dave East, what dem a do, mon, yuh f**k, trouble, killy.”

Popcaan later brings his heat to the chorus cementing the track as a number one hit. “And when dem see me drippin’ every day, Anywhere you see, me did a later day, Don’t play, bring the chopper anywhere, Dave East make ya girl sing a melody, Tell ’em man a kill it down, kill it down, kill it down,” Popcaan deejays.

The dancehall artiste recently released his new album, Fixtape” on August 6th, and it has been at the top position on numerous charts since. Now, his collab with East further adds to his impressive catalog and strengthens his efforts to break out into other international markets.
