The image illustrated portraits of the father-daughter duo throughout the years. Two of the portraits depicted the New Edition star holding his infant daughter, while the other shows Bobbi Khristina at a later age, closer to the time of her death. “#IGOTEM #Babygirl #daddyalwaysgotyourback #justiceforbobbikristina,” Brown captioned the image on Friday (Sept. 16), referencing the family’s victory over Gordon.

Last year, Bobbi Khristina’s estate filed a lawsuit against Gordon, alleging he played a vital factor in Whitney Houston’s only daughter’s tragic death in 2015. After Gordon had failed to attend court for the second time on Sept. 16, a Fulton County Superior judge found the 26-year-old guilty “by default.”

Nevertheless, Bobby Brown says that he is very satisfied with the outcome. “I am pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings,” Brown told PEOPLE. “All I ever wanted was answers relating to who and what caused my daughter’s death. Today’s judgment tells me it was Nick Gordon. Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this.”

Brown’s family also released a statement. “We are praising God. This has been a long time coming, but all the judgments in the world won’t bring Krissy back. We miss her every single day. Even when there’s justice, it’s not comfort. She was gone too soon, and we all have to live with that. I hope Nick lives with it every day for the rest of his life because we sure are.”

The next step in the civil suit will require a judge to determine a number in damages to be awarded to Bobbi’s estate. Brown is reportedly asking for $50 million in reparations. The court date has not been set.
