Cardi B Ties Beyonce’s Record On R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart

Cardi B places four songs simultaneously in the top 10 of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (dated Jan. 13) for the second week in a row.

The Bronx native’s quartet is courtesy of her featured turn on G-Eazy’s “No Limit,” also featuring A$AP Rocky, at No. 2; “Motorsport,” with Migos and Nicki Minaj, at No. 3; her debut hit “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” holding at No. 5; and “Bartier Cardi,” featuring 21 Savage, which slides 7-9.

The only other woman to sport four tracks in the chart’s top 10 at the same time is Beyoncé, whose “Formation,” “Sorry,” “Hold Up” and “6 Inch” (featuring The Weeknd) occupied the Nos. 6, 7, 8 and 10 spots, respectively, on May 14, 2016. The tunes debuted the same week that the diva’s Lemonade album entered at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

In addition to Cardi B and Beyoncé, only six other acts have matched the stat of four of the top 10 spots in a single week since the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart began on Oct. 20, 1958. 50 Cent inaugurated the club on March 26, 2005, and Drake, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar each later achieved the feat. Notably, Drake and Lamar are the only artists to boast five entries in the region at once.

Dej Loaf Hints Her New Album “Liberated” Is Ready

In December we got a new single from Dej Loaf titled “Big Ole Boss” and now she is hinting that her long-awaited album, Liberated, is ready.

The last solo body of work we received from Dej Loaf was her 2016 mixtape All Jokes Aside. Last year, she released a joint mixtape with Jacquees, F**k A Friend Zone. Though she has released at least four mixtapes and an EP since 2012, we’ve yet to get her long-awaited debut album. Last year she announced that she is working on a new project called Liberated but so far there have been no further details.

On Monday, Dej Loaf posted a preview of a new song on Instagram where she drops some hints about her upcoming album. “Express yourself it’s been building up gradually who ready for the album?” she wrote. In a recent interview with Paper magazine, she opened up about the pressure she has been feeling to deliver her best work yet.

“I think it’s been a year and a half since people have seen me,” she said. “I took that time off and I was working. You don’t know how they’re going to react. It’s definitely pressure, though. I just want to be who they saw me as, but also have them understand my growth in the music. That’s what I focused on this go-round.”
