DMX Shares Exciting News About His New Album

DMX delivered some exciting news on Instagram Live about his new album.

Celebrities and artists are continuing to get more creative with the ways in which they bring us entertainment and music news these days, with many turning to social media to keep fans tuned in and informed. One such solution to these social distancing problems has come in the form of Tory Lanez’s Quarantine Radio show on Instagram Live, where he recently invited DMX to join him and discuss music and upcoming projects.

Luckily for X fans, the rap icon confirmed rumors that he has been working on completing a new album, even amid the madness of these trying times. DMX didn’t stick around long enough for an in-depth interview, but Tory Lanez was allowed time to compliment the rap legend, saying, “We are complete fans, right now. We f*cking love everything you’ve done for hip hop.”

DMX replied confidently, “I’m ready to do it again. I’m down here in Nashville, working on the album. Music don’t stop!” Lanez even got up the courage to ask X if he would let viewers preview a verse form the upcoming album, to which X replied, “You could [ask], but I probably won’t.” DMX then let out a growl for his fans, who blew up the comment section with excitement.

Fans and supporters are happy to see DMX doing well after years of substance abuse issues and a recent stay in rehab. The rapper has had a difficult past several years, serving time in 2018 for tax evasion and failing to drop an album since his last project in 2015. However, upon his release from prison, he signed a new deal with Def Jam and announced a renewed collaboration with Swizz Beatz, both moves that had fans looking forward to new music. Now that we are more in need of positivity and entertainment than ever, hopefully DMX will bless us with a release date very soon.

Charly Black & Ne-Yo Drops R&B/Dancehall Banger “Over Again”

Charly Black & Ne-Yo Drops R&B/Dancehall Banger “Over Again”

Charly Black and Ne-Yo link up for a brand new R&B/Dancehall banger “Over Again.”

Producer Troy Hinds from the Troyton Music recording house has turned music matchmaker by bringing together Jamaican singjay Charly Black and multi-GRAMMY winner, R&B superstar Ne-Yo on a track for the ladies, titled, “Over Again.” The track is a groovy mixture of Caribbean sounds, inclusive of ‘Dancehall, Soca and Reggaeton layered below the smooth vocals of Ne-Yo and Charly. Both men continuously fall head over heels for the one who captivates their souls, influencing both to sing, “Over and over and over and over again Girl when you whine your waist I think of us making love Over and over and over and over again Whine fimi gyal…”

This is not the first time that Ne-Yo is collaborating with a reggae/dancehall artiste. Take his remix of Mavado’s track “I Know You Want Me” on Troyton’s Compassion Riddim compilation as evidence that the rapper has done a pretty good job in the past. According to an official press release, Troyton still kept in contact with Ne-Yo and his manager after the first contact almost 10 years ago. “Since the Mavado remix, Ne-Yo and I stayed in touch, and I’m also good friends with his manager Tishawn Gayle,” he mentioned.

He also spoke about how the new track came to fruition. “It had been a while since we did something together, so last year I send him the track and told him I was thinking of a collab with my other good friend Charly Black. Long story short, he loved the track, we then met up in California to do the session and the rest is history,” elaborated the top producer.

A very excited Charly Black and Troyton have been teasing the track for over a month now. Ne-Yo also seems over the moon about the release and took to his IG account to announce its arrival. “#OverAgain with my guys @charlytrelawnyblack @troytonmusic out NOW!! Reggae music is the epitome of raw expression filtered thru extreme passion. No matter what the feeling is, it just hit different when it’s reggae,” he wrote in the caption while expressing his admiration of the genre.

The official press release for the track saw the r&b crooner delving a bit deeper into the making of the song. “The beat felt sexy. The kinda joint you put on repeat when you really trying to make sure she knows what it is you do, if you know what I mean. It was great working with Charly. His personal vibe is as dope as his creative,” mentioned Ne-Yo.

Charly Black also had some kind words surrounding the making of the track. “It’s a great vibe, great song. This will actually be on my album. I originally wanted to wait, but right now with what’s going on in the world, we need feel good music. Music still plays a vital part in every day life, regardless of the situation, it makes you feel good even for just a few minutes. Working with Troyton and Ne-Yo was wonderful, we felt the connection right away, our voices paired perfectly and vibe was right,” he mentioned.

So far, fans have envisioned the track making it all the way up the billboard charts, and with a plethora of Jamaican support, that seems quite possible.

“Over Again” is being distributed by 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution and should be available on most major streaming platforms.

Bank of England Looks To Reggae/Dancehall To Enhance Communication

Bank of England Looks To Reggae/Dancehall To Enhance Communication

Economists at the Bank of England might soon be singing and dancing to a Reggae beat, or a pulsating Dancehall rhythm.

The Jamaican central bank’s use of Reggae/Dancehall artistes and their music to promulgate its Inflation Targeting Campaign, ITC, is being studied carefully by the Bank of England, which is struggling to find measures to engage and communicate with its wider British audience. A Staff Working Paper titled The 3 E’s of Central Bank Communication with the public” which was authored by Chief Economist, Andrew Haldane and his colleagues, Alistair Macaulay and Michael McMahon and published on Friday, noted that the Bank of Jamaica’s videos of Reggae stars singing about inflation targets are among the more unusual central bank communication strategies being used, and which could possibly be emulated by Great Britain itself.

“In order to speak the language of the public, they have released a series of videos including top Reggae stars such as Tarrus Riley and inflation control to the baseline in Reggae music,” the authors noted.

“The Bank of Jamaica’s move from a focus on control of the exchange rate to “full-fledged inflation targeting has been widely discussed for the innovative ways in which the BoJ has communicated the move with the public,” they added.

Cross-platform information company Bloomberg has also weighed in on the Bank of England’s look to the land of Reggae. In n article published today titled “BoE looks to Jamaica Central Bank Reggae for Communication Ideas,” Bloomberg noted that the language used by the Bank of England’s economists in their reports were just too complex for even above-average persons to comprehend.

Bloomberg said the impact of the BoJ’s efforts “which produced a series of videos featuring singers and dancers telling viewers that if inflation is “too high the people have a cry and if it’s too low the country nah grow” were found to be hard to measure, by the BoE, “different objectives may require specific communication strategies.” .Nevertheless, it said, “success should not be measured by the ability to reach everyone, but rather by engaging even limited audiences beyond the current small core of technical specialists and information intermediaries.” The Bank of England economists had noted in the Working Paper that their intention was to explore both theoretical and empirical evidence on communication with the general public, which would provide guidance for policymakers by highlighting some potentially important risks in communicating simply with a broader audience.

Rihanna Has Hilarious ‘Rihunion’ With Paul McCartney on Flight

Rihanna Has Hilarious ‘Rihunion’ With Paul McCartney on Flight

Rihanna knows how to keep us entertained and the 31-year-old singer did not disappoint as she got a good laugh sharing her run-in with musical legend, Paul McCartney. The documented instagram stories were has tagged #RihUnion recalling the fact that the two artist have not worked together since 2015.

“I’m about to put you on blast, Mr. McCartney. How are you on my flight?” Asked Rihanna before the former Beatle answered with, “Who is this filming me?”

The two jokingly play around with Riri stating, “Who is this peasant filming this legend!”

Although the two have only collaborated once when they had an unlikely collaboration on their single “FourFive Seconds” with Kanye West, a friendship still lives.

During an interview with DIY, McCartney admitted that the collaboration was solely due to Kanye reaching out and he’s therefore grateful because of it. “I don’t actually plan too much of this stuff, but for instance with Kanye, my manager just rang me up and said, ‘Kanye’s interested in working with you’. So what would you do? I went, OK great! I didn’t know what we were gonna do or how it was gonna work, so I just took my guitar along and let him lead the dance. We ended up just talking a lot. I played a few little things and one of them ended up as ‘FourFiveSeconds’ with Rihanna. It’s more a question of me feeling lucky that these people are interested [in working with me] and think that I can bring something to it. For me, I feel great. I like diversity.”

Watch Kanye West and His Dad “Follow God” Video

Kanye West released the music video for his song “Follow God” on Friday, and the Christian rapper united with his dad for the fun visuals.

The song “Follow God” is a relatively short track that features Kanye, spitting the same enticing flow throughout the whole song. Many fans fell in love with the track from the “Jesus Is King” album for its quotable lyrics and overall groovy sound. “This is like a movie but it’s really very life-like / Every single night, right? / Every single fight, right? / I was looking at the Gram and I don’t even like likes / I was screaming at my dad, he told me it ain’t Christ-like,” Kanye raps.

The song only has an intro, one 24-bar verse, and an outro, but it was certainly enough to add some new language to the great social media vernacular. Fans have been using the term “Christ-like” in different contexts to suit their online persona. Who would’ve thought such a simple saying would incite a trend?

In the music video, Kanye shares the screen with his dad as they tour the open fields in Cody, Wyoming cruising through the snow in a giant 4-wheeler. The end of the video gave a little insight on how the video came to be. Check out Kanye’s music video for “Follow God” now. His dance moves are giving me vibes.

Koffee and Chronixx Sizzles At Sold Out Show In Birmingham

Koffee and Chronixx Sizzles At Sold Out Show In Birmingham

Patrons who turned out to see Koffee performing alongside Chronixx at the Arena Birmingham in the UK on Sunday night were enchanted by her performance, at what was a sold-out show at the 15,800- capacity venue.
The 19-year-old is now being hailed as a top-rated live performer by Britons, who have taken to social media to express how pleased they were with her performance, some noting that she received the hugest ‘forward’ and greeting of the night.

“I was here Sunday night and I have to say Koffee was Hot. She gave a confident and great performance,” Ifa Kerr said in response to a YouTube video of the teen’s performance.

The fan also noted that Chronixx, on the other hand, did not seem his usual self in his 90-minute performance at the show, which was promoted by Luv One Luv All Promotions.

“Dunno what happened to him before he got to the stage but the energy was not there. After seeing him at Alexandra Palace last year and Manchester in August there was a big difference. Hope the artist is OK and comes back stronger. Koffee got the biggest cheer Sunday night. Bless up all,” she added

“Koffee wicked performance, taking on the world,” Junior Roye said in his commendations.

Koffee kicked off her 40-minute performance with Burning and then did renditions of her other songs such as Blaze, Throne, and Rapture as well as Burna Boy’s “Ye.”

“I think this is very perfect because it is a mixture of UK and Jamaica… so this is an audience that I feel very grateful for. We all know the UK is very cold and right now oonu a warm mi up,” she said deep into the second half of her performance.”

Not much else has been said as yet about Chronixx, who was backed by his Zinc Fence Redemption Band, who starred alongside Koffee at the King Edward Road venue in Birmingham, a city that has a huge Jamaican population. He was joined onstage by Koffee for a rendition of their ‘I don’t care” collaboration, which was done with Ed Sheeran several months ago, which evoked a rousing cheer from the audience.

The two Spanish Town natives have had a harmonious sibling relationship, with Koffee even showed her love for Chronixx and his close friend Protégé in the lyrics of her massive hit song Toast, in which she thanks them both for their support of her career.

Chronixx teamed up with Koffee in February last year, for a performance on the Real Rock rhythm on the BBC Radio 1Xtra program. The performance was video recorded in Kingston at the Tuff Gong Studios. The two also performed together at the Alexandra Palace in London, in November 2018 exactly a year before their Birmingham show.
