Kenny Rogers knows when to croon — and when to fold ’em. A long-time country music idol, Kenny has promised his fans a last farewell tour. And then, at 77, Rogers will hang up his cowboy hat and retire, reported the Daily Mail.
Reflecting on his future, Kenny explained that he is joyful about his upcoming international tour, which he promised would be a significant achievement in his legendary career. But Rogers also confessed that he feels sorrow at declaring an end to his professional prowess.
“It’s happily sad and sadly happy… I’ve done this long enough. I wrote in my book that sometimes there’s a fine line between being driven and being selfish, and I think I crossed that line when I was younger.”
So what’s next for Kenny? Rogers has his bucket list ready, and he revealed that his top priority focuses on spending time with his wife, Wanda, and twins. The couple’s sons are 11-years-old, named Justin and Jordan. Kenny was married four times, and his three children from those relationships.

But he also expressed his concern that he’ll miss those road trips.
“I’m sure I will miss it. I swore that I would do this until I embarrassed myself,” added Kenny.
Rogers also shared his pride in devoting more than 50 years to his passion for country music. And although he feels he’s accomplished everything on his career checklist, the time he spent away from home and family motivated him to conclude crooning.
“I have achieved everything I set out to achieve. A lot of the stuff I have been doing requires that I be gone from home. I want them (my sons) to be: ‘I did this with my dad.’ That they did it with me.”
One of Kenny’s career highlights is “The Gambler,” but his first success was called “Poor Little Doggie” after beginning with The Scholars band. Rogers then impressed with “That Crazy Feeling.”
After intervals with The Bobby Doyle Three band, The New Christy Minstrels, and Kenny Rogers and The First Edition, Kenny finally struck out on his own as a solo artist, and that resulted in his song “Lucille.”
